Dal and His Orchestra
A Vancouver legend for more than seven decades, Dal continues to swing - leading his orchestra of talented musicians in a blend of unique sounds that capture the best of the big band era, along with jazz, rock and pop standards from the 1930s to today.
The Dal Richards Orchestra is a featured attraction at many of B.C.'s most popular annual events; and his big band performances at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, his two-shows a day for seventeen days at the PNE, his annual Remembrance Day Concert and New Year's Eve shows at the River Rock Casino have all become as big a traditional as Dal is himself. From weddings, birthdays and anniversaries to corporate receptions and conventions, Dal is everyone's first choice for memorable occasions. He proudly played for the 2010 Paralympic Opening Ceremonies, the 2010 Olympics and the Province's 150th Anniversary Celebration, and is looking forward to continuing to provide memorable music for all kinds of occasions for many years to come.
